Did you know that most broadband ISPs are now offering their customers free security software? Some (Telus.. Verizon..) offer a “discounted” monthly package, but most offer a full Anti-Virus, Firewall, Spyware removal suite - as long as you’re an active (paying) customer. note: Mac customers are mostly out of luck - these offers are almost all strictly for MS Windows users. With that said, Macs are much more secure out of the box anyway…
AT&T/Yahoo (formerly SBC/Yahoo) offers a free security suite to each of its customers
Bell South offers a discounted security suite to its customers
Charter offers a free, full security suite to each of its customers.
Comcast offers McAfee VirusScan and McAfee Personal Firewall Plus to their customers, which can be downloaded from their Security channel.
Cox offers free A/V software to their customers via their Online Safety site.
Earthlink offers their customers discounted A/V software here.
Optimum Online offers its customers a free security package
Qwest offers its customers a security suite that includes McAfee Anti-Virus, but the rest of the details are difficult to find. Update: Ben (see comments below) points out that more info on the Qwest offering can be found here
Roadrunner (Timer Warner) offers a free security suite to its customers
Rogers offers a free Online Security Suite to all of it’s customers
Shaw offers Shaw Secure to it’s customers for free
Speakeasy does not appear to offer free or discounted security software, at this time
Telus offers a security suite (firewall, A/V, spyware and parental controls) for a monthly fee
Verizon offers a security suite at a discounted rate for their customers - more info can be found here

Qwest does provide a good Internet Security Suite @ http://qwest-iss.custhelp.com/ ; I believe this is for any Qwest customer w/ a qwest.net email account. FYI

I TRIED TO GET FREE MCAFEE SECURITY FROM COMAST MANY TIMES. NEVER COULD GET IT TO WORK TO WORK. THIS WAS A TV OFFER. DONE
