Modem Light Indicators
Power

Flashing - Startup diagnostics in progress.
On - Cable modem is powered on.

Receive

Flashing - Scanning for a downstream channel.
On - Downstream channel is connected.

Send Flashing - Scanning for an upstream channel.
On - Upstream channel is connected.
Online

Flashing - Scanning for a network connection.
On - Startup process complete. Modem aqcuired.

Activity

Flashing or On - Transmitting or receiving data.

Standby

This light turns on when the standby button is pressed and standby
mode is activated.

Notes and Useful Information:

This modem has a standby button located on the top of the unit. When
activated, the LED lights turn off indicating the ethernet and usb ports
are disabled. Note: The cable connection to the service provider remains
active.

    Do i need to update Modem Drivers.

    Though I did email this to Richard, I thought it appropriate to post here in case anyone else has the same question.

    Nope - if you’re online using your modem, I’d suggest you leave it alone (I subscribe to the “don’t fix it if it isn’t broken” theory). With that said, if you’re connected via USB and want to upgrade your drivers to try and improve performance, they can be found here.

    I’d strongly suggest that you have a backup of the older drivers (do you still have the CD that came w/ the modem?) just in case something goes wrong. Hope this helps!
