This brief tutorial will show you how to disable (turn off) the system sounds in Windows XP. Ce bref tutoriel va vous montrer comment désactiver (désactiver) les sons du système sous Windows XP. Because they’re annoying. Parce qu'ils sont ennuyeux.
- Start by clicking Start and selecting the Control Panel Commencez par cliquer sur Démarrer et en sélectionnant le panneau de configuration
- If you’re using the Category view, you’ll be presented with a very similar screen as the one below. Si vous utilisez la catégorie, vous vous retrouvez face à un écran très similaire à celle ci-dessous. If you’re using the Classic view, please jump down to Step 4 . Si vous utilisez l'affichage classique, s’il vous plaît à sauter à l'étape 4.
Select the Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices icon. Sélectionnez l'Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices icône.
- Select Change the sound scheme and then skip down to Step 5 Sélectionnez Modifier le son système et ensuite passer à l'étape 5
- If you’re using the Classic view of the Control Panel, double-click the Sounds and Audio Devices item Si vous utilisez l'affichage classique du Panneau de configuration, double-cliquez sur Sons et périphériques audio point
- Select the Sounds tab from the top (if it isn’t selected already) and then from the Sound scheme: drop down list, choose No Sounds Sélectionnez l'onglet Sons par le haut (si elle n'est pas déjà sélectionné), puis par le régime Sound: liste déroulante, choisissez Pas de sons
- If you’re prompted to save your previous sound scheme, click Yes Si vous êtes invité à mettre votre ancien système sonore, cliquez sur Oui
- Give it a name - it really doesn’t matter what. Donnez-lui un nom - il n'a vraiment pas quoi qu'il arrive. When you’re done, click OK , and then OK again. Lorsque vous avez terminé, cliquez sur OK, puis sur OK à nouveau. Ta-da! No more annoying Windows XP sounds! Plus ennuyeux Windows XP sons!

I tried turning the sounds off with the above message, but now I get an annoying loud beep if I adjust the volume (rather than the “Windows XP Ding” that I was getting.) Is there a way to make that go away? I echo Adam’s situation, with the addition that every time an email comes in, I get that loud beep as well. Adam je me fais l'écho de la situation, avec l'ajout que chaque fois qu'un email arrive, je obtenir que fort bip ainsi.
If you go into the registry … Si vous allez sur le registre…
1.) Go to “Start–>Run” and type “Regedit” in the command prompt. 1.) Cliquez sur "Démarrer-> Exécuter" et tapez "Regedit" dans l'invite de commande. Then hit OK. Ensuite appuyez sur OK.
2.) Navigate to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Sound” 2.) Naviguer vers "HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Sound"
3.) Right click on “Beep” on the right side of the screen and select “Modify” 3.) Cliquez avec le bouton droit sur "Bip" sur le côté droit de l'écran et sélectionnez "Modifier"
4.) Change the value in the box to “No” 4.) Modifiez la valeur dans la case "Non"
5.) Exit and reboot the computer. 5.) Quitter et redémarrez l'ordinateur.

Great tip! Grande pointe! Noticed how the PC boots up, shuts down and generally does tasks faster without sounds. Remarqué comment le PC démarre, s'arrête et, en général, ne tâches rapidement, sans sons.
By the way, does anyone know how to terminate unresponsive apps faster? D'ailleurs, personne ne sait comment mettre fin à des applications peu plus vite?

Thx for the tut on “No Sounds”. Merci pour le tut sur "Non Sons". Eliminated irritating beep that you get even though you’ve saved “no sounds” as a custom. Eliminé irritant bip qui vous même si vous avez enregistré "non de sons" comme une coutume.

Try this… Essayez ceci…
Device manager –> View, check “show hidden devices”—> non-plug and play Drivers; right click “beep” and disable.. Gestionnaire de périphériques -> Voir, cochez la case "Afficher dispositifs cachés" -> non Plug and Play Pilotes; clic droit "bip" et désactiver .. i think this may be little safer the messing with registry and is more permanent….hopefully. Je pense que cela mai peu être sûr de jouer avec le registre et est plus permanente…. je l'espère.
Some other annoying Windows stuff in there to disable also…enjoy..and hope this works for ya. D'autres ennuyeux Windows choses là-dedans pour désactiver également profiter… .. et espérons que cela fonctionne pour ya.
