In preparation for a serious of tips/tricks that involve editing the Windows XP registry, here's a tutorial that explains how to back up the registry (and other system files). 1. Start by clicking the Start button and selecting All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools and finally Backup . Start ved å klikke Start-knappen og velge Alle programmer -> Tilbehør -> Systemverktøy og til slutt Backup.
2. When the Backup wizard launches, click Advanced Mode Når Backup veiviseren starter, klikker du Avansert modus

3. Select the Backup tab and place a check in the box labeled System State . Velg kategorien Sikkerhetskopi og plassere en sjekk i boksen System State. Click the Browse… button. Klikk Bla gjennom ... knapp.

4. If an “Insert Disk” window pops up, just click Cancel Hvis en "Insert disk"-vinduet kommer opp, klikker du Avbryt



5. Select a location to save your backup, and enter a name for the file. Velg en plassering for å lagre backup, og skriv inn et navn på filen. Click the Save button. Klikk Lagre-knappen.

6. Click the Start Backup button. Klikk på Start Backup-knapp.



7. Depending on how many files are being backed up, this can take a few minutes. Avhengig av hvor mange filer blir sikkerhetskopiert, dette kan ta noen minutter. The longer you've had XP installed (or the more programs you've installed), the longer it can take.
