Dit korte leerprogramma/overzicht zal u stap voor stap door het installeren, vestiging en het gebruiken van het Onderzoek van de Desktop Google naar Linux - specifiek in Ubuntu lopen.
- Bezoek http://desktop.google.com/linux/ en de Desktop van downloadGoogle voor Linux (het .deb dossier). Zodra de download heeft geëindigdi, klik het dossier tweemaal.
- De Installateur van het pakket zal openen. Klik Installeer Pakket knoop.
- Ga uw administratief wachtwoord in om verder te gaan.
- Zodra de installatie heeft voltooid, klik Sluit knoop.
- Zorg ervoor Status: is De zelfde versie is reeds geïnstalleerdi en sluit dan de Installateur van het Pakket.
- Voor uw toetsenbord, onderdruk alt sleutel en klap F2. Ga binnen gdlinux en klik Looppas.
- Hier zult u moeten beslissen als u wilt toelaten Geavanceerde Eigenschappen of niet. Het is werkelijk wat niet van belang u kiest - u kunt uw mening later altijd veranderen. Ik liet hen toe.
- Nadat u uw keus hebt gemaakt, Het Onderzoek van de Desktop van Google het pictogram zal in het belangrijkste paneel verschijnen (de hogere juiste hoek van het uw scherm).
- Klik het uitgezochte pictogram van het Onderzoek van de Desktop Google met de rechtermuisknop aan, Index en toen De Status van de index…
- Van hier zult u het statuut van het eerste indexeren van het Onderzoek van de Desktop Google zien. Klik De Voorkeur van de Desktop verbinding van de hoger-juiste hoek.
- Op Het lokale Indexeren lusje u de types van dossiers kunt kiezen dat u het Onderzoek van de Desktop Google in uw onderzoeken wilt ter beschikking stellen. U kunt specifieke omslagen aan onderzoek ook toevoegen als zij niet door gebrek worden omvat. Of, verwijder de standaardonderzoeksomslagen als u hun geïndexeerde inhoud niet wilt. Klik Gmail voorzie van labels als u wenst om uw berichten Gmail in het Onderzoek van de Desktop te omvatten Google.
- Plaats een controle in de geëtiketteerde doos Index en onderzoek e-mail in mijn rekening Gmail, ga dan uw Gebruikersbenaming Gmail en Wachtwoord in de verstrekte ruimten in. Klik Sparen Voorkeur zodra u wordt gedaan. Selecteer Vertoning tabel.
- From here you can customize the various display options (Number of Quick Find results, Number of results per page, etc). Click Other when you’re done.
- The Other tab is really just a place to enable or disable the Advanced features. When you’re done (if you’ve made any changes) click Save Preferences and close out Firefox/your browser.
- Tap the control (ctrl) key on your keyboard twice to bring up the Google Desktop Search window. Enter in something.. (keep in mind, your index is probably still building, which means not all of your files will be searchable yet). You’ll get a list of files and more options to search. If you select See all results in a browser …
- … your browser will launch, and the files will be displayed.

For ubuntu amd64, I just forced the installation of the 32 bit package. I had previously installed all the 32 bit libraries (I needed them for skype too) and everything works great!
For 64 bit ubuntu you need to install:
ia32-libs ia32-libs-gtk
This lets you use 32 bit google earth on your 64 bit system.
for 64 bit users…
sudo dpkg –install –force-all google-desktop-linux_1.0.1.0060_i386.deb
works fine for me!!
I like your tutorial. I’ve got one thing to mention: you need at least 1GB os free space for google desktop to start indexing, otherwise it will be running but nothing will be indexed

been running since I saw the first digg about it yesterday. Still at only 0.1% indexed. Running for 20 hours and it still says it will take 5.8 idle hours… the same as when it was first installed. I think they still have some bugs to address in this.
