This (very) brief tutorial will show you how to delete sites from your Firefox address bar, without having to clear them all. Though this may be common knowledge to many of you, I did a quick poll of my semi-technical friends and more than half of them didn’t even know you could do it.
Firefox for Linux: use the drop-down button in your address bar, scroll to the site you wish to delete, and hit the Delete key on your keyboard (not the Backspace key).
Firefox for OS X: use the drop-down button in your address bar, scroll to the site you wish to delete, hold down the shift key and hit delete.
Firefox for Windows: use the drop-down button in your address bar, scroll to the site you wish to delete, and hit the Delete key on your keyboard (not the Backspace key).
Note: this will only remove it from the address bar drop-down list - not your browsing history.

I do this but they come back! does anybody have a cure please?
