Installing Kubuntu in VMware Fusion Inštalácia Kubuntu na VMware Fusion

4. Enter a name (anything is fine, but something descriptive is a good idea) in the Save As: field. Zadajte názov (všetko je v poriadku, ale niečo opisné je dobrý nápad), v Save As: pole. 6. Make sure that Start virtual machine and install operating system now is checked, and if you burned Kubuntu to a CD/DVD, make sure it's in your drive. 9. Kubuntu will now boot for the first time. Kubuntu bude teraz zavádzacie prvýkrát. Click anywhere inside the VMware Fusion window, make sure that Start or install Kubuntu is selected (use the up and down arrow keys) and finally hit enter (return) on your keyboard. 21. Restart Kubuntu by selecting the K button and choose Log Out… . Restart Kubuntu výberom K tlačidlom a vyberte Odhlásiť sa ....



22. Select Turn Off (rather than Restart) if you want to enable shared folders, increase the amount of RAM that's dedicated to Kubuntu or change your CD-ROM back to the actual drive (if you used an .iso file to install Kubuntu). 24. If you haven't used VMware Fusion before, or you haven't opted to Never show this dialog again , a pop-up message will appear reminding you to install VMware Tools. 1. Click the Settings button from the VMware Fusion toolbar. Kliknite na tlačidlo Nastavenia na paneli nástrojov VMware Fusion.



2. Select Memory from the left menu. Zvoľte Pamäť z ľavého menu. If you want to increase the default amount of RAM allocated to Kubuntu, use the slider or the up arrow. Ak chcete zvýšiť východiskovej sumy pridelenej pamäte RAM Kubuntu, použite posúvač alebo šípku hore. Click Apply when you're done. Kliknite na tlačidlo Apply, keď budete hotoví.

If you used an .iso file during the installation, select Automatically detect physical CD/DVD drive so that Kubuntu will be able to recognize CDs and DVDs when you put them in your drive. 4. If you'd like to share a folder (or multiple folders) from OS X, select Shared Folders from the left window. 5. Select Add Shared Folder… from the list. Zvoľte Pridať zdieľané priečinky ... zo zoznamu.



6. Again, select Enabled and give your share a name in the space provided. Znovu, vyberte Enabled a dať svoj podiel meno na určenom mieste. Click the Choose button, navigate to the folder you want to share, select it and click OK . Kliknite na tlačidlo Vybrať, prejdite do priečinka, ktorú chcete zdieľať, vyberte ju a kliknite na tlačidlo OK. Click the Apply button and then OK to return to the main VMware Fusion window. 7. Back in OS X, right-click (ctrl-click for single button folks) the folder you want to share with Kubuntu and select Get Info . Späť v OS X, dobrý-cvaknúť (ctrl-click for jediného tlačidla ľudia), zložku, ktorú chcete zdieľať s Kubuntu a vyberte Get Info. Make sure that the Others: list is set to at least Read , or Read & Write if you want to be able to write/modify files in that folder from Kubuntu. 1. Start up Kubuntu again by clicking the Start Up button from the VMware Fusion toolbar (or the giant Play button in the main window). Start up Kubuntu znova kliknutím na tlačidlo Štart Up z panela nástrojov VMware Fusion (alebo obrie tlačidlo Play v hlavnom okne).



2. Again, you'll probably be prompted to install VMware Tools. Opäť platí, pravdepodobne budete vyzvaní k inštalácii VMware Tools. Just click OK . Stačí kliknúť na tlačidlo OK.



3. Sign in to Kubuntu. Prihláste sa do Kubuntu.

4. Open Konqueror and navigate to /mnt/hgfs. Otvorte Konqueror a prejdite do adresára / mnt / hgfs. From here you should see the folder you set to share in VMWare Fusion. Odtiaľ by ste mali vidieť priečinok môžete nastaviť, aby sa podieľal VMWare Fusion.

5. Drag that folder to your Desktop (or home folder etc) and let go. Presuňte tento priečinok na pracovnej ploche (alebo domovského adresára atď) a pustiť. Choose Link Here to create a shortcut to that shared folder. Vyberte odkaz tu vytvoriť zástupcu tejto zdieľanej zložke.



6. Now you can access that shared folder without having to go to /mnt/hgfs. Teraz máte prístup k tejto zdieľanej zložke, bez toho aby museli ísť do adresára / mnt / hgfs.

Installing VMware Tools in Kubuntu Inštalácia VMware Tools v Kubuntu

1. To install VMware Tools, make sure that Kubuntu is running and press ctrl + Apple Key to release the mouse and keyboard focus from Kubuntu. 5. It should open up with Ark an app that lets you extract the contents of compressed files. Je potrebné otvoriť sa archa aplikácia, ktorá vám umožní extrahovať obsah komprimovaných súborov. 6. Choose a location to extract the files (the default of /home/your_username is perfect) and then click OK . Vyberte umiestnenie pre extrakciu súborov (predvolené of / home / your_username je perfektný) a kliknite na tlačidlo OK.



7. Once the files have been extracted, you can close down Ark. Open up a console/terminal by selecting the K Menu button -> System -> Konsole . Note : in my instillation, it actually says “Entries in K-menu: Konsole app name, Terminal Program …” – I suspect this may be a minor bug/issue with Tribe 3.    cd vmware-tools-distrib/ cd vmware-tools-distrib /

   (assuming you extracted VMware Tools to your home folder. Otherwise you'd enter cd /path/to/the/folder/you/extracted/vmware-tools-distrib/). (za predpokladu, že ste rozbalili VMware Nástroje na svojej domovskej zložke. Inak by ste zadať cd / cesta / k / / zložky / ste / extrahované / vmware-tools-distrib /). Now enter: Teraz zadajte:

8. You'll be presented with a series of questions. Budete byť prezentované s radom otázok. Hit enter (return) to accept the default, which is absolutely OK in every instance (until you're prompted to set a default screen resolution, which is 2 steps down). Troubleshooting Network connectivity in Kubuntu Riešenie problémov sieťové pripojenie v Kubuntu

1. If you don't seem to be connected to the Internet in Kubuntu, right-click the Network icon in the System Tray. Ak sa vám nezdá byť pripojený k internetu v Kubuntu, pravým-kliknite na ikonu Sieť v systémovej lište. Select Manual Configuration… . Zvoľte Ručné konfigurácia ....



2. You'll be prompted to enter your password. Budete vyzvaní na zadanie hesla. Do so, and click OK . Tak, a kliknite na tlačidlo OK.



3. Your Ethernet Network Device is probably disabled. Vaša Ethernet sieť zariadení je pravdepodobne zakázaný. Select it and click the Enable interface button. Vyberte ju a kliknite na tlačidlo Povoliť rozhranie.
