It changes the default codec (audio and video) for MPlayer. Tā maina noklusējuma kodeku (audio un video) uz MPlayer. Without those changes, I was unable to get rmvb files to play. Bez šīm izmaiņām man neizdevās iegūt rmvb failus atskaņot. I'm not sure they're 100% required for EVERY rmvb file, but I only had two to test with (and neither worked without the changes). If you installed Ubuntu 7.10 and your mplayer can not play rmvb. Ja esat instalējis Ubuntu 7.10 un jūsu mplayer nevar atskaņot RMVB.
Try following steps, Izmēģiniet šādus pasākumus,
1. 1. Open Synaptic Package Manager. Atvērt Synaptic Package Manager.

I still having problems with it even after installing libstdc++5 and redirect directory to “/usr/lib/codecs”. One more thing, in my case X11/Xv is all right; the X11(XImage/Shm) can play rmvb but cannot enlarge the video. Vēl viena lieta, manā gadījumā X11/Xv ir visas tiesības; X11 (XImage / SHM) var būt rmvb, bet nevar palielināt video.

for the latest version of ubuntu,mplayer and its codecs. uz jaunāko versiju, Ubuntu, mplayer un kodekus. I think libstdc++5 is essential for mplayer to play rmvb files. Instructions work for me as well (using ubuntu 8.10 intrepid ibex) provided that: Instrukcijas darbs man arī (izmantojot Ubuntu 8,10 Intrepid Ibex), ja:
(1) the installation directory is changed from /usr/lib/win32 to /usr/lib/codecs and (1) instalācijas direktoriju maina no / usr/lib/win32 uz / usr / lib / kodekus un
(2) that libstdc++5 is installed: sudo apt-get install libstdc++5 (2) ka libstdc + 5 ir uzstādīta: sudo apt-get install libstdc + 5

When I play the rmvb file I get “Mplayer interrrupted by signal 11 in module:init_audio_codec”. Kad es atskaņot RMVB failu I get "mplayer interrrupted ar modulī 11 signal: init_audio_codec". then voila, Mplayer can play rmvb tad voila, mplayer var atskaņot RMVB
but as somebody mentioned above, when I tried to see it in full screen using OpenGL, the video is stuttering like crazy. bet kāds minēts iepriekš, kad es centos apskatīt pilnekrāna izmantojot OpenGL, video stuttering kā traks. Anyway of solving that? Anyway, kā atrisināt šo jautājumu?

So now I need to figure out how to make my PS3 play rmvb in full screen smoother. Tātad tagad man vajag izdomāt, kā padarīt manu PS3 spēlē rmvb pilnekrāna gludāka.

though, the step 9 # Select the Video tab and change the Available drivers: to x11 X11 (XImage/Shm). lai gan, solis 9 # Izvēlēties Video cilnes un mainīt Pieejams vadītājiem: līdz x11 X11 (XImage / SHM). worked but so well that if the pixels are small, even in full screen mode, the video size will remain small unless changed to x11 X11/Xv where full screen worked for me. apstrādāti, bet tik labi, ja pikseļi ir mazi, pat pilnekrāna režīmā video izmērs būs neliels, ja mainījušies x11 X11/Xv kur pilnekrāna strādāja par mani. the quality depletes but being able to see the video is better than nothing at all. kvalitātes noplicina, bet ko var redzēt video ir labāka par neko.

thanks. pateicība. worked on debian etch after installing the codecs in the specified directory and installing libstdc++5 with aptitude, then choosing the xv/x11 video driver and alsa audio in the preferences menu. strādāja pie debian gravēt pēc instalēšanas ir norādītajā direktorijā kodekus un instalējot libstdc + 5 ar zināšanu, tad izvēloties xv/x11 video draiveri un alsa audio Iestatījumu izvēlnē. changing the audio/video codecs didn't make any noticeable difference. mainot audio / video kodeki nav nekādas ievērojamas atšķirības.
