How to resize images using The Gimp Como redimensionar imagens usando o Gimp

This brief tutorial will guide you in using The Gimp to resize pictures/images. Este breve tutorial irá guiá-lo no sistema usando o Gimp para redimensionar fotos / imagens. Though the Gimp is not a Linux specific program, it is included as the default image editing software in Ubuntu. 1. Start by locating the image you want to resize. Comece por localizar a imagem que pretende redimensionar. Right-click it and select Open With -> Open with “GIMP Image Editor” . Clique com o botão direito nela e selecione Abrir Com -> Abrir com "GIMP Image Editor".

2. In the main Gimp window (the one with your picture displayed) select Image from the top menu, and then Scale Image… from the drop-down list. Na janela principal Gimp (um com a sua imagem mostrada) especifique Imagem no menu superior, e, em seguida, Escala imagem ... a partir da lista suspensa.

4. If you’d like to resize your picture based on percentage, click the “up/down” arrows in the pixels menu and select percent . Se quiser redimensionar a sua imagem com base em percentuais, clique no botão "up / down" setas no menu e selecionar os pixels por cento.



5. Now use the up or down arrow(s) in the Width: box to increase or decrease the size of your picture. 6. The picture will now shrink (assuming you opted to decrease its size). A imagem passará a encolher (supondo que você optou por diminuir o seu tamanho).

7. If you want to permanently resize the picture, select File -> Save . Se você quiser permanentemente redimensionar a imagem, selecione Arquivo -> Salvar. If you want to save this resized picture but keep the original as it is, click File -> Save as… Se você quiser salvar essa imagem redimensionada, mas manter o original como é, clique em Arquivo -> Salvar como ...

8. Give your ‘new’ picture a name and click the Save button. Deixe a sua «nova» imagem um nome e clique no botão Salvar.

9. You’ll be asked what Quality you want the picture to be. Você será solicitado que você queira que a imagem de qualidade para ser. The higher the quality, the larger the resulting file. Quanto maior a qualidade, maior o arquivo resultante. I usually opt for somewhere around 85. Eu costumo optar por algo em torno de 85. Click OK when you’re done. 10. That’s it! That's it! You can now quit The Gimp by selecting File -> Quit . Você já pode fechar o Gimp, selecionando Arquivo -> Sair.
