How to create an .iso file in Windows

Using the same software that allows you to extract the contents of an .iso, MagicDisc, you can create .iso files. This brief tutorial will guide you through doing just that.

1. First, make sure to download MagicDisc and install it. The installation is very straight forward - you’ll mostly click ‘next’ a bunch of times. At the end of the installation, you’ll probably be notified that new hardware was found and installed.



2. Right-click on the new System Tray icon, and select Make CD/DVD Image…



3. Insert the CD or DVD that you want to create an image of, and select the drive that you put the disc in from the CD/DVD-Driver: list. Select Standard ISO image file (.ISO) from the Output format list. Now give your file a name in the Output File area. By default, the .iso will be saved to your desktop. If you want to change the save location, click the small ‘opening folder’ button next to the Output File name. When you’re ready, click OK.



4. Watch as MagicDisc makes your .iso file…



5. And when it’s done, click OK. That’s it, you’re done!
