Ross, thank you for your help. It succeeded in verifying my settings and the test email worked. The problem I have continues though. I can receive my gmails just fine on Thunderbird, I cannot open them. The Help button will not open either. Any help with this?
I hope you enjoy your evening.

Hi friend :)

I dont know if you understood or if im wrong, but when i say i can retrieve mail from 2004 using TBird,, these mail were deleted in 2004! Its not listed today on my gmail account. Seems tbird has to view every email written by me since 2004 to update itself. These mails im getting, its not on the trash, on the main email list, on the spam zone or any other area. Its not there but it keep comming using Tbird. Including emails that i wrote to ex girlfriends lol :)

What do you think, pal?

OK regarding deleting your mail - sign in to the web based gmail, select Trash. Then click the Empty Trash now link from the top of the page. Though it might say "messages that have been in Trash more than 30 days will be automatically deleted", I have mail from June of 2006 still there.

To totally uninstall Thunderbird, run the 'removal' program from Add/Remove Programs. Once it's done, check C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\ - delete the Thunderbird folder if it's still there. Same with C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Application Data\.

Then do a system-wide search for *Thunderbird* and delete anything else you might find. If you really want to go overboard, empty your recycle bin and reboot before you re-install Thunderbird. And if you're comfortable editing the registry, use regedit to delete any left over Thunderbird references. At that point, it should be a totally 100% fresh install.

Thx my friend, you rock helping ppl like me, thank you very much.

Some points:

a) I thought when i deleted an email (on gmail), it would be deleted FOREVER. I can retrive e-mails since from 2004 (when i joined). Is there some way to get rid of it using the gmail website? I never could imagine they would keep it hidden and stored.

b) By the way, i removed and reinstalled tbird, but all my data remained on the computer. It claim to be on C:\documents and settings\application data\blablabla but, even with the folder application data visible, i cant find the Thunderbird folder with my data to remove.

Thank you about your help again :)

Hey, does Thunderbird support threaded view (like we have on the web version of Gmail)?

If not, is there a workaround to enable that?
