Yeah I think at the end of the day, someone just decided to space out the ‘big’ holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas/Hanukkah) a bit more. Though from my time in both countries, I think it’s pretty safe to say that Americans make a bigger deal over Thanksgiving than Canadians do. For us, it’s mostly just an excuse to eat turkey and pumpkin pie.
