How to open Office 2007 files using Office 2000, XP, or 2003

Office Windows

You can open, edit and save Office 2007 files using an older version of Office (2K/XP/2003) if you download and install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack. So if you’ve been sent a file created with Word, Excel, or PowerPoint 2007 - and you don’t have MS Office 2007, you’ll still be able to view and edit it (though some of the features very specific to 2007 might not work, you’ll usually be notified if it happens).
