This is one of the reasons I prefer VMWare Fusion. Tas ir viens no iemesliem, kāpēc es gribētu VMWare Fusion. Simply hit “Full screen” and you've got it – whatever the native resolution of your screen. Vienkārši hit "Full screen" un tev tā - neatkarīgi no native resolution jūsu ekrāna.
For even finer control, just install the supplied VMWare Tools and it'll give you virtually every resolution under the sun. Pat labāka kontrole, vienkārši uzstādīt piegādāto VMware Tools, un došu jums gandrīz visas rezolūcijas zem saules.

Everything in linux is case sensitive – so it has to be X11, not x11. Viss linux ir reģistrjutīgs - tā ir X11, nevis x11. If you try again w/ a capital X, you should be good to go Ja jūs mēģināt atkal w / kapitālu X, Jums ir jābūt labi iet
Ok, now it's done but only appear one resolution more 1280 x 720, 50 hz…i'm using an old 3dfx voodoo4 32 mb graphic card, thanks Ross for your response. I found myself wondering why I can't use the resolution 1920×1200@60… then I noticed it's missing from the Pēc tam dara visu iepriekš minēto (tiešām bija noderīgi, paldies!) i do all steps above and everythink works fine. i do visas iepriekš minētās darbības un everythink works fine. I get the right resolution automatically. Man labi izšķirtspēja automātiski. (i use xubuntu 8.04 on an Intel Core2Duo MacBook whith Parallels 3). (i lietot Xubuntu 8,04 uz Intel Core2Duo MacBook jāiesniedz tiem Parallels 3).
But: when i start the terminal, the hole terminal window is unusable. Bet: kad es sāku termināls, caurums termināla logs ir nelietojama. The colors are wrong and the vertikal lines are delayed in each other. Krāsas ir nepareizi un vertikal līnijas ir aizkavēta otru.
I can't change the screen resolution in the way above, i get no choices. Es nevaru mainīt ekrāna rezolūciju, kā iepriekš, man nav izvēles.

I incorporated the change suggested by Andreas above. Es iekļauts mainīt iesaka iepriekš Andreas. I also had to change the HorizSync to 28-60. Man arī bija jāmaina HorizSync līdz 28-60. When I restarted X the first time I also had to use the terminal procedure with gnome-control-center to set the resolution to 1920 x 1200. Kad es atsākt X es pirmo reizi bija arī izmantot termināla procedūru gnome-control-center iestatīt izšķirtspēju līdz 1920 x 1200. Anyway it works now full screen. Anyway tas strādā tagad visu ekrānu. There may be cruft in the attached file but it works for me. Var būt cruft ar pievienoto failu, bet tas strādā par mani.

I tried this on my iMac forever and couldn't get any results, until I installed Build 5624 and Parallels-Tools. To be fair, this is more of a Parallels issue than it is an Ubuntu issue. Lai būtu taisnīgi, tas ir vairāk paralēles jautājums nekā tas ir Ubuntu jautājums. If you install Ubuntu directly onto a machine, rather than via Parallels, VMware, Virtualbox etc, changing desktop resolutions is as easy as it is w/ Windows/Mac. Ja instalējat Ubuntu tieši uz mašīnu, nevis caur Parallels, VMware, VirtualBox uc, mainīt darbvirsmas rezolūcijas ir tikpat vienkārša, kā tas ir w / Windows / Mac.
Well true it might be issue with parallels. Arī taisnība, tas varētu būt problēma ar paralēlēm.

I'd like the 1920×1200 res. Es gribētu 1920 × 1200 res. but with this method it only goes to 1152×864… (it was max 800×600 before!) bet ar šo metodi tikai iet 1.152 x 864 ... (tas bija max 800 × 600 pirms!)
