The Windows Key keyboard shortcuts for Vista

Email Windows

Quite some time ago, I wrote a post titled Wow… The Windows Key is useful after all. That post attracted some attention - apparently I wasn’t the only one who really overlooked that key on my keyboard. As it turns out, Vista has decided to include a few extra “Windows Key” keyboard shortcuts too. The majority of the previous Windows Key shortcuts still work in Vista, but here are some new ones:

Windows logo Windows Key + G: Cycle through the Sidebar Gadgets
Windows logo Windows Key + T: Cycle through programs on the Taskbar
Windows logo Windows Key + U: Open the Ease of Access Center
Windows logo Windows Key + X: Open the Windows Mobile Center

    My favorites are :
Windowskey+D = Shows desktop (minimizes everything)
Windowskey+F = Windows search (F is for find i guess)
    Windowskey+R = Run. Opens a run box.
    Windowskey+L = Locks computer
Windowskey+ Tab = Cycle through windows in a cool graphical way. I don’t know how to describe it but it’s cool. Helps you find things if you have a hundred windows open :P

Hope this speeds up ur vista experience!

    OH!
I just remembered. In XP you could Windowskey+U or R to restart or shutdown the computer. Unfortunately, they removed that feature(gay) but you can Windowskey and tap right arrow three times, and then hit U or R for the same effect.

Message to M$: BRING BACK WINDOWSKEY+U/R DAMMIT!
