How to format a USB thumb drive in Windows ¿Cómo dar formato a una unidad USB pulgar en Windows

This brief tutorial will guide you through formatting a USB thumb drive (also called USB flash drives). Este breve tutorial te guiará a través de formatear una unidad USB pulgar (también llamados unidades flash USB). The exact same steps apply for formatting any removable drives/memory cards/non-primary hard drive partitions. El mismo se aplican los pasos para formatear discos extraíbles cualquier / tarjetas de memoria y no primaria particiones de disco duro.

1. Formatting a drive, of any kind, will wipe out all of the data on that drive. Formatear un disco, de cualquier tipo, borrará todos los datos de que la unidad. Make sure you’ve copied any files from your USB thumb drive to a different location before formatting. Asegúrese de que ha copiado todos los archivos de su unidad USB pulgar en una ubicación distinta antes de formatear.
2. Plug in the device and open My Computer . Conecte el dispositivo y abra Mi PC. Right-click the USB drive and select Format… . Haga clic derecho en la unidad USB y seleccione Formato….



3. Select the File System that best suits your needs, and give the drive a name in the Volume label field.
