This brief tutorial will guide you through formatting a USB thumb drive (also called USB flash drives). Tento stručný návod vás prevedie formátovania palcom USB disk (nazývaný tiež USB flash disky). The exact same steps apply for formatting any removable drives/memory cards/non-primary hard drive partitions. Presne rovnaký postup platí pre formátovanie vymeniteľné jednotky / pamäťové karty / Non-primárne oddiely pevného disku.
- Formatting a drive, of any kind, will wipe out all of the data on that drive. Formátovanie disku, akéhokoľvek druhu, vyhynie všetky dáta na tomto disku. Make sure you've copied any files from your USB thumb drive to a different location before formatting. Uistite sa, že ste skopírovali všetky súbory z vášho disku palcom USB na iné miesto, ako formátovania.
- Plug in the device and open My Computer . Pripojte prístroj a otvorte priečinok Tento počítač. Right-click the USB drive and select Format… . -Pravým tlačidlom myši na USB disk a vyberte Formát ....
- Select the File System that best suits your needs, and give the drive a name in the Volume label field. Vyberte File System, ktorý najlepšie vyhovuje vašim potrebám, a dať disk meno v poli Označenie zväzku. Click Start to format the drive. Kliknite na tlačidlo Štart formátovania disku.
- Click OK on the warning window. Kliknite na tlačidlo OK na varovné okno.
- Once the format has completed, click OK . Potom, čo dokončil formáte, kliknite na tlačidlo OK.
- And now your USB thumb drive will be wiped clean, with the new volume label (name) applied. A teraz si palec USB disku bude vymazaný čisté, s novým zväzku (názov) použiť.

hey… i never thought of this place to get my flash drive formated. hej ... ja nikdy nenapadlo toto miesto, aby mi flash disk formátovaný. used some application to do this simple job. použité niektoré aplikácie to urobiť jednoduchú prácu. thnx alot! thnx a lot!
Useful information but when I go to My Computer I can only see the camera icon and the format option is not available. Užitočné informácie, ale keď idem na ikonu Tento počítač môžem iba vidieť ikonu fotoaparátu a formát voľba nie je k dispozícii. Do I need a card reader or is there another way? Musím čítačku kariet, alebo je tam iný spôsob?

i tried that, but the screen hangs upon right clicking on the drive… what should i do??? Snažil som sa to, ale na obrazovke sa zasekne po kliknutí pravým tlačidlom myši na disk ... čo mám robiť??
