Mac

Does your Mac suddenly wake up, often just for a brief moment, when it should be in sleep mode? The instructions outlined in this brief tutorial will resolve the problem.

  1. Navigate to /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ and look for the file titled com.apple.AutoWake.plist. It’s probably not there.

  2. click to enlarge

  3. Open your System Preferences and select Energy Saver. Click the Schedule… button.

  4. click to enlarge

  5. Place a check in the box labeled Start up or wake. Click OK.
  6. The com.apple.AutoWake.plist file show now appear in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/

  7. click to enlarge

  8. Go back to the Schedule area and remove the check mark from the Start up or wake box. Your Mac will no longer wake-up from sleep mode when it shouldn’t.
