i have my computer and itouch on the same wireless network, i click on my ipod in the device section of itunes and i enter the code. i have tried so many differant ways. I had to manually add the port exceptions in order to get anything at all to happen with the iPhone Remote application in Windows Vista 64-bit. I was really frustated because I could not use my remote app, I was using “PC-cillin Internet security” program and that was blocking the access to my computer even though I unblock all the firewall in Windows Vista, I changed the personal firewire profile to home network in that program and Voila now it works prefectly. I already have itunes checked on firewall, the REMOTE application still shows in itunes, when connected to wifi, I enter the 4 digits, wait while it's verifying the passcode and then nothing.. I have same problem as some others. Mám rovnaký problém, ako niektorí iní. The remote will work for about five minutes, and then it stops working. Another interesting problem. Ďalším zaujímavým problémom. I am running an airport express connected to home hifi with a wireless router connected to PC. I am running Airport Express pripojený k domácej hifi s bezdrôtový smerovač pripojený k počítaču. “Remote” application connects to PC fine except it does not showup as a device on the left hand side of the Itunes screen… however… it does work. Hi, dont know if it helps but the best way I can find for it connecting (as long as have the correct firewall settings) is to start the Remote App and then start iTunes. Ahoj, dont vedieť, či to pomôže, ale najlepší spôsob, ako môžem zistiť, že pre pripojenie (ak majú správne nastavenie firewallu) je vzdialené spustenie aplikácií a spustite iTunes. This of course brings up the problem of if it disconnects I have to restart iTunes which is annoying to say the least. Hi, my iphone dint show up in itunes(had latest one), computer and iphone were on the same network,…….So, i reinstalled itunes (installed again without uninstalling one i had) and uninstalled bonjour and reinstalled it. It basically involves restarting Bonjour (I'm on a PC). To v podstate znamená reštartovať Bonjour (som na PC). When following these instructions, I found Bonjour was already running but I restarted it anyway and, after that, my iPhone started appearing in iTunes. Keď týchto usmernení, zistil som, Bonjour, už začala plynúť, ale já opakovaný štart, a to rovnako, po tom, môj iPhone začala objavovať v iTunes.
You have to make sure the bonjoure service is up and running. Musíte sa uistiť, bonjour služba je v prevádzke.

I just attempted to pair and use the remote for 3 macs a powerbook (that i just hacked to run 10.5.6 tonight/this morning) a mac mini g4 and my macbook pro. Len som sa pokúsil spárovať a používať vzdialenú dobu 3 Mac PowerBook (že som prenikol až k Beh 10.5.6 večer / ráno) Mac mini G4 a my MacBook Pro. all of them will allow me to remotely control itunes. všetci mi dovolí vzdialene ovládať iTunes. But, and this is really not cool the macbook pro won't let me control itunes unless it's connected via ethernet. I cloned my user onto it while in target mode using carbon copy cloner, not the first time i've made the supposedly impossible feat of putting leopard onto a 667 megahertz machine and yet i can't get the itouch to talk with a 3 month old macbook pro (which is a great machine, don't think i'm knocking it) but the settings are the same between them for now with differing results. I had the same problem a number of people described above, with the remote being recognised but the passcode just disappearing as soon as it is entered into iTunes. In Vista, I found that I also had to enable Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Media Sharing to get Remote to see my iTunes library. Just solved the problem. Len vyriešil problém. Even though I had turned off windows firewall, I had to run msconfig and disable the autostart of windows defender for my remote to work. The biggest issue with this is Bonjour – most people manage to check the correct boes etc, but still have issues. Najväčším problémom je to s Bonjour - väčšina ľudí sa podarí kontrolovať správne Boese atď, ale stále majú problémy.

I released the IP address of PC and rebooted (had to change the TCP and UDP entries since the PC had reassigned itself a new IP address). I uvoľní IP adresu počítača a restartoval (musel zmeniť TCP a UDP záznamy od PC sa preradený sama novú IP adresu). No joy. No radosť.
I set the PC to use a static IP but didnt work. Som na PC používať statickú IP adresu, ale didnt práce. I then set it back to dynamic. Ja potom ju späť na dynamický. (The PC always seems to hold the same ip address even under dynamic) (PC vždy zdá, že majú rovnakú IP adresu i pod dynamická)
Unfotunately I still cant get the Remote to work. Unfotunately Pořád dotírat brať vzdialené do práce.
Is there anything I've missed ? Existuje niečo, čo som vynechal?
The one thing I'm nervous about is the router – the Vigor2820 is much more comlicated than the routers I've normally used ? I have a first generation iPod touch. Mám prvej generácie iPod touch. I let my friend put her music from her itunes on it. Nechal som ju môj priateľ hudby z iTunes jej na to. To me… and I am by no means an expert, your problem does not sound like a networking issue. Pre mňa ... a ja som v žiadnom prípade odborník, váš problém neznie ako siete problém. You stated that your Iphone is seen as a device in Itunes and that you actually get through to the passcode entry. Ste uviedol, že váš iPhone je vnímaná ako prostriedok v iTunes, a že ste vlastne keď sa na vstupe hesla. I guess that means that the networking is working fine. Myslím, že to znamená, že sieť funguje v poriadku. On my setup, I find it hard to stop the whole thing from working ok, whether firewall is enabled / disabled, ports are redirected etc, it always works. On my setup, já ťažko zastaviť celú vec z práce v poriadku, či je brána firewall zapnúť / vypnúť, sú porty presmerované atď, vždy to funguje.
If I were you, and if you havn't allready (once again let me point out that I am NO expert), I would look more at reinstalling Itunes and especially the bonjour application, I would guess that your problem lies more on the bonjour side of things. Keby som bol vami, a keď si sa allready (ešte raz mi dovoľte pripomenúť, že nie som expert), tak by som vyzerať na preinštalovanie iTunes a hlavne bonjour žiadosti, hádal by som, že problém spočíva skôr v bonjour stránku veci. Do you ever do a complete power down on the iphone? Mali ste niekedy robiť úplnú moc sa na iPhone? I found this makes a difference quite often. Našiel som tento rozdiel robí docela často.

I really can't seem to get my Remote app going. Naozaj nedokážem si svoje vzdialenej app deje. I gave iTunes Permission to bypass the Windows Firewall and my McAfee Virus Protection/Firewall. This still seems to be a problem because when i attach my iPod Touch to my Laptop i don't even get the screen in my iTunes to input the four digit pass code. Hey there, i've been frustrated with remote for the past day or so. Ahoj, už som frustrovaný s diaľkovým za predchádzajúci deň, alebo tak. I couldn't get my iPhone to appear in the devices list, even after trying many of the things above. Nemohol som sa dostať môj iPhone sa objaví v zozname zariadení, a to aj po vyskúšaní mnohých veciach vyššie.
I eventually turned off my AVG firewall, restarted bonjour, then opened Remote/then iTunes and voila. Nakoniec som vypnúť firewall má AVG, znovu bonjour, potom otvoril Diaľkové / potom iTunes a voila.
hope it helps anyone else with the same issue. dúfam, že pomôže niekto iný s rovnakou otázkou.
