For the person that did not see the option for guided partition with winxp and ubuntu, I had the same issue. Make sure all your drives are un-mounted and that you have less than 4 partition on your HD (you can use the partition utility under administration to check for that). When I did a dual-boot install of Ubuntu 8.04, at first I didn't get the “Guided” option when it came to disk partitioning.
