ok so i downloaded the patch to my ipod first gen and it just has the apple logo there and it wont go away what do I do?

Guys..I have tried this 2 times..1 time with the new graphics and one with the old ones..my ipod gets to the last step and is loading but it wont load….and when i plug it into itunes it doesnt recognize it…so i cant restore..and that restore trick wont work….

it messed up my ipod touch but there is a way to fix it if that does happen.
1st you hold in the home button and plug in the lead open itunes first do this at the same time.you should see the ipod restoring its self.

HELP !

i get to step 3 [ connect ipod etc. ]
and i get a screen that says please connect the device you would like to modify
it may either be an iPhone , iPod touch or the new iphone 3g

i connected my ipod and it is connected i cant get passed this screen.
i tried the log and the ipods not showing up.

i have the new ipod touch.
