Power Up Your Windows Desktop With Pitaschio

by Skyler Huse on September 25, 2008

Windows

Pitaschio is a small program (a 60.2 kb download) that adds a lot of features to a Windows 2000, XP, or Vista desktop.

You can download it here, where it also gives a short list of some of the features. There is no need to install, just unzip and run Pitaschio.exe. If you want Pitaschio to start up with your computer, be sure to create a shortcut and copy it into your startup folder (found under Start -> All Programs -> Startup or in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu\Programs\Startup).

After you have run Pitaschio.exe, there should be a new icon in your system tray, as shown below. Double click it to bring up the settings.

You can find a thorough explanation of these settings here. I recommend unchecking ‘Disable maximize button’ and unchecking the ‘Disable keys’ for the Windows button (however, this is a very nice thing to have when you’re gaming!), and the Caps Lock button.

Once you’ve gotten used to these enhancements, you won’t want to be without them! Here are some images of the features:

There is much more you can do with your program, you just need to dive in and set everything up how you like. I guarantee you’ll love at least one thing it can do, so give it a try.
