-
Enter the PIN and IMEI in the spaces provided (back in step #3), and continue with the Account Setup process.
If you get the message An account already exists for this PIN, continue with the next step. Otherwise, jump down to step #10 below.
- Click the Forgot password? link and your password will be sent to your BlackBerry. If you get the password successfully, use it to sign in to the BlackBerry Internet Service site.
- If you get a message that says something along the lines of “User name and password don’t exist” – you’ll need to call Rogers at: 1-866-931-DATA (3282) and ask them to create/reset your account.
- Now that you’re signed in to the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) site, make sure your account is validated. If it’s not, just click the small link to validate your account.
- Fill in the required info, and you should get a message saying your account is now valid.
- In the Edit section, click the small image of a “pencil and paper”.
- This will take you to the General Settings screen. From here, you can delete the “Sent from my BlackBerry device on the Rogers Wireless Network” signature (erasing it and leaving the space blank will set your device to have no signature at all).
- If you’d like to add your own signature, enter it, make sure all the rest of the fields are valid, and click the Save button.
- You should get a message saying your account was successfully updated.
- And that’s it. Send an email to yourself (ideally another one of your email accounts) and then check that account to confirm the annoying Rogers signature is gone. If it’s still there, try again in a few minutes – in some rare cases it can take a while to update.

Now all that’s left is to add a FILTER through BIS to stop your sent (Gmail) emails bouncing back as new email in your inbox – it’s a Gmail glitch.
Just add a filter that will not forward emails to your BB that are received from your own Gmail address.

I can see how that would be a glitch/annoying bug for some people, but for me, I like it. It lets me keep a record on my phone of emails that I’ve sent, and I also get a ton of notifications (WordPress, server, hosting etc) that are sent “from” my address to my address. So it’s actually a “feature” for me
Plus I have the unlimited email/chat so it’s not a data-usage issue.
Fair enough.
I just send tons of email out on daily basis, therefore, seeing my own email as new is kind of annoying since I can just view the Sent Email folder and monitor the activities from there. Imagine sending 300 emails daily on your desktop and having 600 new emails out of which 300 are the replied ones, and 300 are your own send email.
Only a suggestion. It’s funny, only Gmail does that.
grato,
Israel
