Qimo ist ein desktop Betriebssystem, das für Zicklein konzipiert ist. Gegründet auf dem geöffneten QuellUbuntu Linux Schreibtisch, kommt Qimo pre-installed mit pädagogischen Spielen für gealterten Kinder die 3 und up.Schnittstelle Qimos ist entworfen worden, um intuitiv und einfach zu sein zu verwenden und große Ikonen für alle angebrachten Spiele zur Verfügung gestellt, damit sogar die jüngsten Benutzer keine Mühe haben, die Tätigkeit vorzuwählen, die sie wünschen.
Qimo benötigt ein Minimum 256MB des Gedächtnisses, von der CD oder 192MB zu Installation zu laufen. Mindestens wird 6 GB Festplattenlaufwerkraum und ein 400MHz oder eine schnellere CPU empfohlen. Wegen seiner sehr minimalen System Anforderungen ist es ein fantastisches auf diesen alten PC anzubringen und OS, der in Ihren Wandschrank in Ihren childs Raum sich zu setzen sitzt.
Dieser Tutorial führt Sie durch das Anbringen von Qimo und gibt einen kurzen überblick über die apps, die enthalten sind, sowie Anweisungen im Entfernen einige von den, die Sie nicht Ihr Kind zugänglich machen wünschen können.
- Um begonnen zu erhalten, downloaden Sie Qimo .iso Akte. Sie müssen dieses .iso zu einer CD oder zu einem DVD (es paßt auf einer CD) brennen. Sobald durchgeführt, setzen Sie das CD/DVD in Ihr CD/DVD-ROM ein und laden Sie herauf Ihren Computer auf. Überprüfen Sie, ob Ihr PC auf Aufladung vom CD/DVD Antrieb zuerst eingestellt wird (vor der Festplatte oder anderer Antrieb).
Sie werden mit dem AusgangsQimo Aufladung Schirm dargestellt. Weil Qimo ein LiveCD ist, können Sie es versuchen, bevor Sie es anbringen, wenn Sie möchten. Auserwählt Versuchen Sie Qimo ohne irgendeine änderung an Ihrem Computer wenn Sie ihm einen Durchlauf geben möchten, bevor Sie ihn wirklich anbringen. Dieser Tutorial geht wirklich Sie durch den kompletten Installation Prozeß - Klicken so unten zu tun der Pfeil auf Ihrer Tastatur, um hervorzuheben Bringen Sie Qimo an und dann kommen Erfolg herein.
- Der Qimo Installateur fängt an zu laden.
- Der erste Schritt der Installation ist, Ihre Sprache vorzuwählen. Tun Sie so von der Liste auf der linken Seite des Schirmes, und klicken Sie dann Vorwärts Taste.
- Wählen Sie jetzt die Stadt vor, die zu Ihnen am nähsten ist (in Ihrer Zeitzone) vom Drop-Down-Menü, und klicken Sie an Vorwärts Taste.
- Wählen Sie Ihren Tastaturaufbau von der Liste in der linken Spalte vor, und wieder, klicken Sie an Vorwärts Taste.
- Jetzt müssen Sie entscheiden, wieviel Qimo zuzuteilen Speicherkapazitaet. Because I’m going to dedicate the entire hard drive to Qimo, I selected Guided - use entire disk. If you don’t want to use your entire hard drive for Qimo, select Manual and use the ’slider’ to determine how much space Qimo gets vs. any other operating system(s) you may already have installed. When you’re ready, click the Forward button.
- Now you’ll need to create a profile. Enter your name, a user name, password and name for the computer. NOTE: do NOT place a check in the box labeled Log in automatically. Qimo will automatically create a username named “qimo” which is the user that your child will log in with. This username automatically signs in each time Qimo starts - your child doesn’t need to enter a user or pass. The account created on this screen is for you to use to administrate the PC. Click the Forward button to continue.
- That’s it - you’re ready to install Qimo. Click the Install button after you’ve reviewed all the info on the summary page.
- Qimo will now install. This may be a good time to go grab a cup of coffee.
- Once the installation has completed, click the Restart now button.
- Qimo will now start up.
- Because Qimo automatically logs in with the ‘qimo’ account (the account your child should/will use) you’ll be taken directly to the desktop.
- The “Dock” at the bottom of the screen includes links to the apps your child will use most.
- The first app in the Toolbar is Text Editor which is exactly as you’d guess - a text editor. Your kids can create brief notes or use it to write out homework.
- The second app in the Toolbar is GCompris, a collection of general educational games that are appropriate for children ages 2 and up.
- Childsplay is a collection of educational games.
- TuxPaint is a very simple Paint program that allows your children to create colorful pictures, posters, cards and letters.
- Tux Math teaches mathematics through a series of fun games.
- Certain programs are off-limits to the ‘qimo’ user (your childs account). When/if they try to run those programs, they’ll get an error message similar to the one displayed in the screenshot below.
- However, some programs are not off limits. For example, Firefox can be used by the qimo user. The easiest solution to avoid having your child use programs like Firefox, Transmission (bittorrent), IRC or Instant Messaging, is to keep the PC offline entirely.
- To quickly update the system, open a Terminal and enter the command su your-user-name (where your-user-name was the one you selected back in step #7). Enter your password when prompted, and then issue the command sudo apt-get update
- Now enter the command sudo apt-get -f install
- If you’d like to remove programs from qimo entirely, enter the command sudo /usr/sbin/synaptic to launch the Synaptic Package Manager.
- From here you can easily search for and remove any programs that you simply don’t want on the PC.
- You can also administer Qimo by logging out of your current session, and logging back in with the username and password you created in step #7.
