Windows Tip: How to quickly display the Menu bar in IE 7 and IE 8

By default, Internet Explorer 7 and 8 “hides” the Menu bar. This tip will show you how to quickly toggle it on and off.

  1. One of the first things you probably noticed in IE 7 (and then in 8) is that the File Menu is no longer displayed.

  2. If you want to quickly display it – just tap the Alt key on your keyboard.

  3. If you’d like to have it permanently displayed, right-click in a blank area of the Toolbars section, select Menu Bar, and now it will always be displayed.
