Cool Dashboard Widget: Another hockey widget

After using Conference Call Omni for a while, I found that it used a bit too many system resources and it took a bit too long to update (often 12+ hours after a game had finished). So I went back out on the hunt for another, and came up with Hockey Widget 1.0.

It installs the same as any other widget, and the setup is just as simple. But this one offers a number of views. The first is the Scoreboard view -

If you hover your mouse over any of the games, the summary (period by period goals, game stars and team standings) will appear.

Switch to the Standings tab and you can view the current standings for any division.

Again, hover over any of the teams and you’ll get a detailed view of of that team (goals for, goals against, home and away record, last 10 games and current streak).

This one is a keeper. And it should be noted that there are widgets by the same author for other sports, including baseball and football.
