How to Convert Images to Black and White Using The Gimp

Though the process is actually quite simple, it’s a little bit ‘buried’ and can be difficult to locate the first time. This brief tutorial will show you how to convert pictures from color to black and white using the image editor The Gimp.

1. Open the image in The Gimp that you want to convert to black and white.

2. From the top menu select Image -> Mode -> Grayscale.

3. Now your image has been converted to black and white. That’s it!
