A43 a pris environ 18MB de mémoire vive après l'avoir utilisé pendant 5 minutes. Elle est tombée à 3mb RAM de 15 secondes après, de ne pas l'utiliser. Son temps de réponse est très rapide alors que le renommage, le déplacement et la copie de fichiers. Le glisser-déposer zip / unzip et rar / Unrar fonctionnalité est très soigné - si j'ai fait des fichiers zip souvent, je trouve cela très utile. Aussi, vous pouvez adapter A43 sur une disquette et le prendre avec vous pour utiliser sur n'importe quel PC (ne nécessite pas d'installation). Le haut-éditeur de texte était facile à utiliser, comme cela a été "lancement rapide" section. Le fichier de filtre "fonction (utilisation de jokers pour trier les fichiers) est bien situé et fonctionne exactement comme vous le voulez. Entre les caractéristiques et le prix, il s'agit d'un gestionnaire de fichiers que je ne vais pas supprimer tout de suite.

Beaucoup de fonctionnalités, mais l'interface est très "Windows 95" de temps en temps. Si elle était libre, je envisager de quitter, elle a installé et peut-être l'essayer pendant un temps plus long. Parce que certains des autres gestionnaires de fichiers sont aussi riches en fonctions (ou plus) et ont une plus grande cohérence (et parfois beaucoup plus attrayant) interface, je ne peux que lui donner les deux étoiles sur cinq.

Voici pourquoi j'ai donné CubicExplorer 3 étoiles au lieu de 2 ou 2 ½ - il a du potentiel, et c'est gratuit. Comme il n'est même pas à la version 1.0 (0.77a du 10/13/06), il ne peut obtenir de meilleurs (à droite). Malheureusement, la 0.77a existe depuis Mars de cette année, et le forum indiquent que le travail sur un ,80 commencé il ya un moment (mais il n'est pas encore sortie). Avec tout cela dit, la fonction Quick View est quelque chose que je voudrais utiliser, souvent. Liste code html réel quand un fichier. Html est choisi, plutôt que d'un "preview" de la page Web, est idéal pour moi. La construction en est un excellent éditeur de texte pour stashing snipits de texte, html, les adresses des pages web, etc, et de permettre à ce texte à un onglet est fantastique. Bien que cette version a trop peu de fonctions pour moi, je vais certainement donner à la prochaine essayer.

Directory Opus est un gestionnaire de fichiers. Il ya beaucoup de fonctionnalités et d'options, et presque tous les aspects de ce programme est personnalisable. C'est vraiment un explorateur de remplacement, et il propose de le faire au cours de l'installation - lorsque vous ouvrez n'importe quel dossier, répertoire Opus va se lancer. Le haut-client FTP fonctionne exactement comme vous le voulez. Les nombreuses options d'affichage sont faciles d'accès et peu de "sens". Alors que dans l'utilisation du répertoire Opus a 28MB de mémoire sur mon système. L'instant qu'il est réduit au minimum, de son utilisation de la mémoire a chuté à 1Mo. Si j'ai utilisé Windows le plus souvent, je serais heureux de payer 85,00 $ pour acheter ce logiciel. En fait, la prochaine fois que j'ai un travail quotidien qui nécessite l'utilisation de Windows, je le ferai.

Pretty straight forward Explorer comme gestionnaire de fichiers. Bien qu'il ne dispose pas d'autant de fonctionnalités que la plupart des autres gestionnaires de fichiers examinés, il est gratuit (pour usage non-commercial) et fait une grande "première" mise à niveau pour les débutants. Toute personne qui a utilisé l'Explorateur Windows pour plus de 5 minutes ne seront pas dépaysés en utilisant ExplorerXP.

Far Manager est un peu vieille école File Manager. Le support de la souris est fournie, mais il s'agit d'un gestionnaire de fichiers pour le clavier commandos. Very cool plugins ajouter beaucoup de fonctions supplémentaires (FTP, e-mail, Winamp, etc.) Je ne suis pas sûr que je vais payer pour ce gestionnaire de fichiers, mais je vais l'utiliser jusqu'à ce que les 40 jours est en place avant que je décide.

FileMatrix est tout à fait unique parmi tous les autres gestionnaires de fichiers examinés dans le présent article. L'interface est très différente de l'explorateur de style typique manager. L'utilisation des "conseils" et "conteneurs" permet la visualisation et le regroupement de fichiers en un clin d'oeil. Si vous êtes fatigué de la même vieille de-file-manager, celui-ci donne un essai. Et n'oubliez pas de faire usage de la Wizards inclus et les fichiers d'aide - ils sont vraiment utiles.

«Un accès facile aux dossiers système" est l'une des caractéristiques de cette première sauté sur moi. Ma pensée a été immédiate: "Pourquoi n'est-ce pas dans tous les gestionnaires de fichiers?" Je mai ont négligé dans certains des autres, alors je vais certainement pas dire que c'est la seule qui a cette fonction. "Taille des dossiers" (non activé par défaut) ne ralentisse pas les choses - comme freeCommander calcule et affiche la taille de chemise. Cela dit, il est très pratique pour tenter de savoir où votre disque dur a disparu, et facile d'accès quand vous en avez besoin. L'image de prévisualisation a été un peu lent pour moi par rapport à la plupart des autres. La fonction de capture d'écran vous permet de choisir entre les types d'images (BMP et JPG) et même d'ajuster la qualité. Je pense que le plus grand inconvénient de freeCommander est le manque de soutien construit en FTP, et je suppose qu'il n'est pas d'une grosse affaire. Ce programme, bien que gratuit, le don est digne.

OK voici mon bœuf .. Ce n'est pas un mauvais gestionnaire de fichiers à tous. Il est très personnalisable, a toutes les fonctionnalités que vous attendez, mais celles que vous voulez vraiment essayer (ajouter des notes à des fichiers, FTP, la synchronisation des dossiers) ne sont disponibles que dans la version Pro (qui il n'ya pas de procès pour ). La version standard est gratuite, mais il a un «nag 'bar qui prend trop d'écran de l'immobilier. Je préférerais de 10 jours entièrement fonctionnelle version de démonstration avant de décider d'arrêter de 40 $. Aussi, ont-ils ajouté pour moi une liste de diffusion lorsque j'ai dit que je ne voulais pas rejoindre (vous devez fournir une adresse email pour télécharger la démo).

À la suggestion d'un certain nombre de commentateurs, j'ai téléchargé et installé Servant Salamander 2.5 RC1. C'est un autre style de Norton Commander inspiré du gestionnaire de fichiers, et un très grand, en plus. Il a toutes les fonctionnalités que vous attendez, et puis certains. Les plug-ins permettent de fonctionnalités qui vont au-dessus et au-delà d'un gestionnaire de fichiers (captures d'écran, de chiffrer et déchiffrer, sftp / scp, etc.) La possibilité de définir un «niveau de compétences" est une excellente idée. Exécution des commandes n'est pas seulement facile, mais la fenêtre de commande ne se ferme pas automatiquement une fois la commande a été exécutée! Comme il est maintenant, je ne peux pas choisir un «gagnant» entre Servant Salamander et de Total Commander. Je suis sûr que ça revient à la préférence personnelle. Si Norton Commander style de gestionnaires de fichiers sont votre truc, je vous suggérons fortement d'essayer les deux et de Total Commander Servant Salamander, et de décider pour vous, qui est le mieux. Si vous avez un budget limité, rendez-vous pour freeCommander. Lorsque les versions de démonstration expire, je prévois pour l'achat soit totale ou Servant - Je vais mettre à jour cette fois je décide.

Après avoir utilisé pendant seulement 30 minutes environ du total (jusqu'à présent), tenir compte de ces commentaires avec un grain de sel. Total Commander semble être le plus rapide du gestionnaire de fichiers en termes de temps de réponse. Je lui demande de calculer la taille de 14 dossiers (qui contient quelques centaines de fichiers) et il m'a donné immédiatement la réponse. Le disque dur n'a pas clunk loin d'essayer de compter des fichiers, il vient de se passer. Comme les captures d'écran ci-dessous montrent, Total Commander est très ancienne école (si il ya de nombreuses options pour personnaliser l'aspect et le toucher). Comme son nom l'indique, il est de style après Norton Commander, et comme vous le voulez, il peut être complètement contrôlé par le clavier. À 34 $ USD, je suis curieux de le comparer à Free Commander (voir les commentaires en bas). Je me réserve le droit de remonter jusqu'à ce 4 étoiles, après je regarde Free Commander

REMARQUE: un certain nombre de gens ont mentionné que Xplorer mai comporter un trojan (AVG captures comme cheval de Troie Generic10.AEGX). J'ai supprimé le lien de téléchargement, mais laisse l'URL si vous voulez copier et coller dans votre navigateur et essayez de les télécharger, il faut vivre sur le bord.

Sans doute la plus semblable à l'Explorateur Windows de tous les gestionnaires de dossier examiné, Xplorer est certainement meilleure que la valeur par défaut de Windows Explorer. Voici mon seul véritable grief - quand vous supprimez un fichier, il reste «visible» dans la liste des fichiers jusqu'à ce que vous actualisez l'écran. Et vous ne pouvez rafraîchir en appuyant sur la touche F5 de votre clavier (pas de clic-droit, pas Edit> Refresh, etc.) C'est un ennuyeux 'feature' est assez pour moi de ne pas l'utiliser (j'ai reproduit ce problème sur 3 ordinateurs Windows XP). Si ce genre de chose ne vous dérange pas, par tous les moyens de vérifier ce parce que c'est pas mal autrement.

La capacité de recherche de fichiers de partout, avec Omni-Finder, est effectivement très cool / puissant. Le haut-Aide est très utile, car elle explique toutes les fonctionnalités (et comment les utiliser) clairement, avec des illustrations. Au premier coup d'oeil Xplorer ² semble assez moyenne, en creusant plus profondément le montre à être un puissant gestionnaire de fichiers.

Wow. Il n'aura fallu que quelques minutes, de regarder autour pour voir certains éléments que je n'avais jamais vu avant (baisse de fichier texte, ctrl + backspace breadcrumb) - et certaines que j'ai jamais vu avant, mais ce détail (voir la rubrique "Renommer Spécial "capture d'écran ci-dessous). Si vous cliquez et maintenez enfoncé le bouton gauche de la souris sur une image (dans la zone de prévisualisation), il développe jusqu'à ce que vous relâchez le bouton de la souris. Very cool. XYplorer semble avoir un peu plus large que l'empreinte mémoire Directory Opus (le seul autre type Explorateur du gestionnaire de fichiers que je donne 4 étoiles), mais il est moins cher.

Not a bad “quick” review, although I was surprised to see ExplorerXP (which has clearly been abandoned long ago) and XPlorer (which appears to have also been abandoned) in the review. In my search for the holy grail of file managers almost two years ago I came across XYplorer ( http://www.xyplorer.com ). It is a VERY powerful file manager that is roughly half the cost of Directory Opus (which is a nice file manager), comes with a lifetime license (no cost to upgrade to future versions), and is constantly being improved upon. New features and bugfixes are released almost daily!

Thanks for this great list, and thanks for taking a look at some other file managers! For XY, be sure to go into the “Beta Club” (the forums) and get the latest beta…the betas are rock solid and have more features than whatever is available as an “official” release.
According to the features listed above, Total Commander is the only one to have Direct access to Network Neighbourhood. This means that I have full access to all the folders and files of the other computers on my LAN.
As I have a 3 computer home network, I wouldn’t use anything else but Total Commander.
Another one well worth a look is Cubic Explorer (www.cubicreality.com). It has a tabbed interface and bookmarking facility. And the installer-free download functions well as a portable app.
I guess I know what I’m doing tomorrow. I added Total Commander and freeCommander this evening, tomorrow I’ll add XYplorer (beta), Servant Salamander, Cubic Explorer and maybe the non-beta of XY. Thanks to all for the feedback and suggestions!

Total Commander. Always better. Long test history. Long history of development since Windows 3.1. Robust in networked environment. Robust when it hits hardware / OS errors. Does FTP and has many plugins (many of them free). Has a portable option so it will be install-free on a USB stick. Fits on a floppy if you do not load plugins. Behaviour is “safe” - defaults never make you lose data or cause confusion (eg is it copy or is it move?). Does not suppress the right click context menu. Many shortcut keys and can be driven using keyboard instead of mouse. Author has been quick and responsive - this is randomly over many years. Many, many features which are not surfaced by the menus.
Total Commander. 5/5 Stars.

Total commander is for me the best solution.
For sure, you can’t test it in 30 minutes, there is hundreds of possibles commands which may help you to save a lot of time, and many of them are not in the menu but you can add them with your own customized menu.
The tab function is really cool and help to save time.
Many plugins are available to open any archive (iso, img and all compressed files), plugin for sftp, etc…
If you look for big icons with picture preview go away. If you don’t want to spend your time managing your files, that’s the solution.
If there is one software to buy for windows, it’s Total Commander.

Total Commander has so many features that it boggles the mind. On many occasions, I have e-mailed Christian Ghisler (the author) asking for a feature only to have him tell me that it had already been implemented.
Archive packer (or plug-in) supports every type of compressed fule I’ve come across.
Also, in addition to the extensive collection of plug-ins on the site, there is an independent site of TC plugins at:

With these plug-ins you can do almost anything: sftp, database browsing, Linux drive support, ISO image support, formatted viewing of files (code, images, animations, etc), iPod connectivity, etc.

i bought total commander a few years ago, but gave up on it due to some annoyances that just drove me insane near the end. Then i found xplorer2 and its so much faster and does exactly what i want… a simple explorer replacement that looks nice right after install, doesnt need 500 plugins to make it “work”, very intuitive and similar to win Explorer, and doesn’t have strange cryptic hot-keys to do simple stuff. But i do admittedly miss the FTP that Total Commander afforded me.
so why did xplorer2 get only 3 stars even tho you listed no cons about it?
let me weigh in with another thumbs up for XYplorer. at one pt, i tried most of those others and they came up short, at least for me. not so xy. i love it!
the only thing all of them are missing (as far as i know) is a harddisk size analyzer such as idisk. with the addition of that, XY’d be the ginchiest.
What a good list of Windows Explorer alternatives , guess what, I’m still going to stick to use MS Windows Explorer. Installing those applications may just wreck havoc to my system.

I miss a thing that bugged me in Explorer always:
If you try to delete or copy a couple of files and one seems to be in use , there is only “abort” or “ok” and it doesn`t continue. So stupid. Yet I only know Directory is able just to continue (and I like the transfer info box) but it`s not free and only for this feature I don`t wanna spent AUD $85,00. So maybe you know wich of those is able to handle file copy/delete as it should!

Total Commander… sure, the interface is ugly and not very intuitive, but as a power-user tool, it’s absolutely unreplaceable. Shows its best with age.

I especially love that its got tabs. Hit ctrl+insert and you get a new tab! And to go to a different directory, just click the name of the directory you want (say, you are at c:\documents and settings\username\application data\microsoft\internet explorer\ and you want to go back to application data, click on that subdirectory without having to hit the .. or “up” to bet you back there. Its the only app with it and I have become used to it).
At work I use A43, since its free (and not just for non commercial use).
An interesting new dual pane explorer replacement I just found is File Commander.

You list should contain Servant Salmander . Its an excellent file manager feature wise. User it daily and can’t live without it.
I have personally used Total Commander (Windows Commander) since the 3.1 days and I can honestly say it is the one tool I have kept with me wherever I go in this industry. For the longest time I was even still carrying the disk that Christian sent me with my license. Even now as new plug-ins are developed, integrating the added functionality into my day by day usage requires nary an additional thought.
I have used Directory Opus and agree that it is feature rich and definitely a boon to those tethered to a mouse all day, but what was lost in simple, easy to learn keyboard combos far outweighed the bells and whistles that might be used only once or twice.
Another recommendation for Servant Salamander. I’d be absolutely lost without it.
Total Commander is the first thing I install on any fresh Windows installation (even before additional drivers); I’ve been using it for about 2 years now, and I still find new (useful!) features every now and then… Windows Explorer is a joke :§)
I see Servant Salamander already commented on a few times. I absolutely love it, myself. Haven’t used Windows Explorer for awhile now.
I’m not sure why you’re using FAR Manager in 80×25 resolution. If you press Alt-F9, the window’ll stretch to cover the whole screen. Also, raster fonts suck. A TrueType one, like Lucida Console or Courier, looks much better and can benefit from ClearType on an LCD.
And here’sa bit of trivia: if you press Alt+F6 over a file, you can create an NTFS hardlink for it (or softlink for a folder), and I’m pretty sure no other file manager can do that.
There’sa lot more to FAR than meets the eye, and when you start scripting it with macros and adding plugins, you’ll never want to use anything else.
After reading a few reviews I skipped down to your review of Xplorer2. It’s the only one of these programs that I know well. Xplorer2 is a very deep program with very strong, unique features, none of which are mentioned. Your review of it is so cursory and devoid of information that would make the review useful that - I’m sorry - it harms your credibility for reviewing these programs.
However, thanks for pulling together this grouping and providing the links.

Not to get too defensive, but if I listed all of the features for each of the file managers, this would be hundreds of pages long. The “features” part of each section is a copy/paste (with minor edits) from the respective developers webpage. If the features you love aren’t listed, suggest to the developer that they’re not marketing their product as well as they could be. Regardless, I’m glad you found this semi-useful.

Your review dropped into my lap when I finally decided to take some time to search for an alternative to Explorer. I wasn’t happy with the couple I had found on my own.
Based on a look at your rundowns, I gave a few more a try and have settled on XYPlorer. It’s exactly what I wanted and more…but not *too* much more. I’ve managed to kill 4 other misc. single task apps with XYPlorer.

All I want to add to Windows Explorer is the ability to copy files smarter, so that I get the option to replace files with the same name but with newer change-dates. So far, TotalCommander is the only one I’ve found that does this, but the UI is so hideous that I can’t bring myself to using it for anything else.
Isn’t there anything out there that just does this simple task?

I have been using Power Desk Pro for several years, but they moved their web site and I thought them defunct. My main reason for buying it is that it has “Outside-In” technology to view almost any type of file, even if the file type (extension) is missing or wrong in many cases.
