This very brief tutorial will show you how to stop iPhoto (or any App) from automatically opening when you plug your phone into your Mac.
- Connect your phone to your Mac. Quit iPhoto when it opens. Now launch Image Capture from your Applications folder.
From the DEVICES list, select the entry that represents your phone.
- In the NO NAME column (bottom left corner of the Image Capture window), select No application from the Connecting this camera opens: drop-down menu.
- Going forward, iPhoto will no longer open itself when you plug your phone into your Mac. You can exit out of Image Capture now.
