Did you know that by default, your files are not uploading to Dropbox as fast as they could be? Until the folks at GroovyPost pointed it out (see them for the Windows version of this tutorial) – I didn’t either. Here’s how Mac users can remedy the upload speed limits –
- Click the Dropbox icon in your Menu Bar and then select Preferences…
- Select the Network tab, then click the Change Settings… button located next to the Bandwidth: item.
- In the Upload rate: section, select Don’t limit and then click the Update button.
- Going forward, when you place files in your Dropbox folder(s), they’ll upload considerably faster (I went from an average of 200KBps to just over 1MBps). That’s it!
