How to Resize the Windows 10 Taskbar

This quick tip will show you how to adjust the Windows 10 Taskbar in case it ever gets accidentally resized.

  1. Lately a number of people have reported that a software update or system change has increased the ‘size’ of the Taskbar in Windows 10 (see screenshot below).

  2. click to enlarge

  3. To adjust it, right-click on an empty space in the Taskbar itself and if there’s a check mark next to it, select Lock the taskbar. If there isn’t a check mark next to Lock the taskbar you can skip right down to the next step.
  4. Hover your cursor over the top of the Taskbar until it switches to the “up and down arrows” cursor. Now click and drag the Taskbar down to its previous size.
  5. Ta-da! When you’re done, right-click the Taskbar again and re-select Lock the taskbar so that it’s locked again.

  6. click to enlarge
