    There is one mistake with the simulation. On the Comcast network, after selecting “Outgoing server requires authentication” the outgoing port in the Advanced tab must be changed to 587.

    You only want to use port 587 if you selected your outbound server to be authenticated, otherwise port 25 which is default will work fine.
